Wonderful to hear your voice sharing these posts-- I love the openness of your writing-- not always needing to always provide answers, information, solutions to problems, but being willing to share questions, ideas, and personal experiences. Looking forward to more.
I’m so happy to hear you avoid the “best of” approach to food travel writing. I’ve always found that approach bogus, especially in a city as culinary rich as Rome. It also produces those insane lines for a small handful of places like Da Enzo leaving so many other wonderful places undiscovered. Although.. maybe that’s a good thing?
yes to all of this, including the silver lining that truly special places, those “undiscovered” places, are protected from tik-toker tourism! Thanks for listening in Frank 😊
Michelle! This was everything. The depth and the way you spoke about your writing and Rome and your why, it encapsulates everything we've talked about and tells us so much about your work in just a few minutes!! I'm grinning because it was so lovely to hear you, and hear you speak your truth. Can't wait for the next one 💕
I'm very new to your Substack and haven't had yet the chance to dive into all your articles, but I truly loved this first podcast episode and resonated with your reflexions about belonging and understanding who you are. I'm looking forward to the next episodes!
thanks for listening Maïlys and for leaving a comment. On est bien proche both in distance - Corsica is right next door - and in place writing. Glad to meet you and I hope to visit your beautiful island some day soon!
You're welcome Michelle! Indeed we are close geographically, and in my opinion, Corsica is way closer culturally speaking to Italy too than it is to France. I'm an Italy lover all the way - had the chance to live there a few months when I was studying in Milan - and Rome is among my favorite cities in the world. So I hope I'll too visit your place again some day soon ;)
Beautiful!! Love the intro music 💕 loved what you said about the fountain, too.. “truth revealed”.. makes me wish I had made an early morning visit while I was there. Glad I get to visit through your words. Grazie mille ✨

Thank you for listening to the episode Corinne, and for listening to me talk about these things behind the scenes as I’ve made my way to this point 💕
Wonderful and thought provoking.
Thanks for listening in Alan, grazie!
